Say, I noticed from your post that you are now going to take the TABE. TABE??? Will that satisfy the attorney??

You know as well as I do, that failing the exams works in your favor. I am not suggesting you intentionally fail. I am saying that I would not have any concerns about it. If you are serious about going back to school. Question them about when you can retest. Then you would know what to study before the retest, that would benifit you and not them.

I spoke with his aid and he had said either tests were fine.. He is the one that does the vocational part, and did say to do the best that I can..... I do know that if I score low I'm better off, and I had talked with the special needs about the whole mess.. And he understands my positon i am in. I had said I can re-take the tests later, but didnt say how long the waiting period was..

As for even with the best accomodations, if my pain doesnt tollerate me to go back to school it has been discussed... It would consist of more money in the end and after settlement I could do it on my own time and pace... There is a lot at play here, and it aint just banging the teacher''''''''''''''''''''s erasers....

RE: School question
Well, It sounds like you have dotted the I's and crossed the T's. This is just one more stepping stone to the end of the mess.

RE: School question
Jayne I understand, just wanted to point out the values of accomodations.

I understand the not being able to set for any period of time or walking the distance, for me I am unable to write for more than a minute or two at a time and that would mke it difficult in taking a test by pencil & paper.

Bronoc you are on a number of pain meds and sometimes that affects the cognitive skills, has that been mentioned in taking the test?

Yes, he had asked about my meds and had written down that I am.. He had not gone into depth in talking about it, but it does effect my attention.... I dont know how its going to work out, in the reading part of the test I caught my self re reading....

RE: School question
I won't worry about that. I recall re-reading it three times.

Should you contniue on the path. You may find out the following. If you are studying something that interests you. Your mind will get wrapped up into the subject and you will not notice the pain until you move. However; it is just the oppisite when you are studying something you don't care for. I know when I am using Autocad. My mind gets so wrapped up into the program that I don't notice the pain.

I hope that makes sence.

So, how did it feel taking a test again after so many years???

RE: School question
All as I know when I went through the campus I felt so old, seeing all the younger generations.. I found taking the testing interesting, not having to do it for a long time... I never minded the home work and tests in school, but hated the way the schools here treat you as a person....

RE: School question
I continued with college classes up unitil 2008, haven't taken any since the TKR. Trying to take a college class and dealing with the medical issues I ended up with depression. My medical doctor has advised me against taking any more classes until my medical is under control.

I would like to go into accounting, something I've done in the past and very much enjoyed.

RE: School question
I dont know what this will lead to, but have thought about some kind of education.. My employment since 16 years old has been hard labor, pulp cutter, grounds keeper, then driving truck.. I have always been on my own (my own boss) I would not and have not a clue what I would like my education for.. I may be jumping the gun anyways but atleast I will know in case I do..
