RE: Too young????
I had terminal dates set, January 17th for mine, Jan 28th for respondent. Judge for me can take another 90 days after terminal dates are set to decide. This was for doctor recommendation on back and left hip. Plus reinstating of TTD.
The doctor placed me at MMI but he also stated in Oct. that he wanted to see me in six months. Ratings are ratings, don't have to accept them or settle. I need more treatment for knee and for hip. This is far from over, this is after all only one doctor's opinion. Plus he's the one who always side on the respondent. I've talked to few people who say he's ever agreed with them on anything. I need an IME, MRI, hopefully my lawyer will atleast agree to an IME and I will pay for an MRI. I believe I have an infection in my left knee, it would explain the pain, aches, swelling, low grade fever on and off and redness in my knee. |

RE: Too young????
My knee with the knee replacement has always been swollen since the replacement.
This restricts the clothing I can wear. The replacement was 6/08 and I've had problems since the surgery with pain, and range of motion. The skin on the inside of this knee is deep red, and the texture of the skin looks different. Th coloring of the skin reminds of some of the pictures on the RSD web site. Don't think I have RSD, the skin is just different looking. |

RE: Too young????
With my feet together my left knee sticks out about an inch further than my right knee.
The knee is red medially, hot to the touch and it extends up to my thigh. It's been this way for nearly 5 months. I'm still open to amputation, anybody willing, I'll walk you through it, try not to scream too much. I've assisted with about a dozen. I've operated on my toes, this shouldn't be much harder. |

RE: Too young????
Bodybuilder---I had a question for you. In your post you said you were up for an AKA, being in the medical field myself I was wondering if you were serious. I have at times said I would love someone to just cut the nerves that are giving me all the problems in my back. I know how pain can get to you. But on the lighter side I could assist you with the AKA as I have done way to many in my career.
p.s. What does your dr say about the heat and redness? Maybe you need an aspiration to find out if there is any infection going on in there? I have also heard of people who turned out to be alergic to the type of bone cement used in the repacement. 6/97--Discectomy L5-S1. 3/09--Discectomy L5-S1 (failed). 6/09--spinal fusion L5-S1. This year who knows? |

RE: Too young????
I did talk to the attorney today (same one bodybuilder has)
The attorney did talk to the judge about needing a decision made soon. Judge says she is working on it. |

RE: Too young????
lol, you bad
I went to my son's school today in some of the worst pain I've ever had. Trust me, I've passed kidney stones with no meds. The pain in my left knee started yesterday when I was getting out of my truck. I could barely shuffle. Doctor thinks I'm at MMI, I don't think I'll be walking much longer without crutches or something. There are just times that I can hardly stand the pain. I only got about 3 hours sleep and that was cat napping. Managed to somehow stay awake all day 0800-1500 at my son's college. Luckily the teachers are very understanding. They let me get up and stretch. It's amazing how quickly the other males in his class are reaching out to him. They're so understanding, it's amazing considering what he went through last year at his other college. Pain is better tonight, I hate pain meds, develop a tolerance quickly to some, allergic to others. Can't use ice during the winter months since I have reynauld's syndrome. But tomorrow is another day, we're installing my new dishwasher. I hope it lasts longer than the last, that one lasted just 7 yrs. I did go buy new skechers today, love the fact that I can go and just buy a size 9.5 skecher and they fit, perfectly. The fact that they were only $45. helped as well (Sears sometimes has amazing sales, like the new dishwasher, last week it was on sale for $369. this week, $489). BB |

RE: Too young????
bodybuilder I do remember the days before the replacement surgery.
Constant pain & buckling of the knee, no sleep. When you visit with the attorney Monday let him know what you are going thru. I remember one day I was in the attorney's office sitting at the chair at his desk. I got up to leave, the knee buckled and down I went to the floor. He had to help me up off the floor, very embarssing! After that visit he moved quickly and had a date scheduled to go before the judge. Had the replacement within six months. |

RE: Too young????
I have asked my doctor 3 times about the redness, the unusual swelling in the front of my knee (it is strange my knee is more swollen in the front than anyplace else), how warm it is, etc. He just doesn't reply, just keeps on examining me. But he does the same thing to the insurance company, he's been asked 3 times about causation and he just doesn't reply.
When I had a cortisone shot in May my personal doctor questioned the unusual swelling. Told me that I needed to see an orthopedic doctor about it. Get some more testing done, when I saw my WC doc in June he took me off all restrictions, in October he put me back on all restrictions. But now he's put me at MMI with restrictions. Question, at MMI with restrictions, does that equate to permanent disability at this time? Thanks, stay warm, BB |
