RE: helthcare
Thanks Wink for clarifying that. Sometimes wording something differently is read differently Wink

sorry Stiffnecked for misunderstanding how you put it.Smile

Red....I wish I could have written what you did. Your questions and comments are right on target and my opinion is that your post is what this discussion should be about. Lots of questions. If another member can answer one of them it gets us all closer to learning and seeing what another sees. Thank you.

I'm going to back out of this discussion for awhile. I'l be reading but Bill is having a bad reaction to this week's chemo treatment and I'm pooped.

God is never late.

Again, unsubstantiated Glen Beck sound bytes... A lot of stars would have to line up for that to happen I believe. And even if they did, I think we'd STILL be better off that what is coming if not.

ADMIN>>>>>>finally some sound ideas. That's all I asked for here. Was others ideas. We all need to stick together.

But he was replying to what you wrote. You favor competion. Most of us do. But there will be no competition across state lines nor anywhere if Obama and Company gets their way with the Public Option (which will lead to the Single Payer Health Care). That's what stiffnecked tried to relate.

Just My Opinion, We have Quite a Few Members needing Our Help Right now, and This Thread May be too Much for Some to Handle, with Their Lives in so Much Pain and Turmoil! I for One have 2 Sick Parents, and this Subject, even though a Very Valid One, Draws Me in to read even when I don't want to for Some Reason! And This Post, just as the Elections Post did, has Caused a Few to Leave the Forum for a While, They May not have Posted it Here, but I have Received PM's from Quite a Few! Could I Please Make a Request? Could We Please Shelve this for a Small While, I have Asked this Before, but with Many Needing Our Time to Help Them, and with Many not being able to Stay on the Board as Much due to Pain and such, if We give this Thread a Break Folks May be able to Help Each Other a bit Better, and Maybe Some of Our Friends will Return, and Add in Helping the Others that Need Them Right Now! Again, just a Request, and whatever Decision is Made, I will Honor! Thanks for Listening, and Have a Great Day Everyone!!Wink

Listen, I checkmated you once regarding the flu shots...and I can sure enough do it again right here. Moreover, I could very well defend stiffnecked and blow you right out of the water. But that is between you and him. Cycler, you're nothing more than a clever snot-nosed troublemaker who peers down his nose at most everyone--and I am surprised no one has picked up on it. I dunno...perhaps they feel sorry for you. I don't.

RE: helthcare
Previous to the start of the school year a teacher will look at the list of student for their grade level and certain students will be separated into different classrooms because the students will play off of each other's behavior and personality.

And this is what we have on this forum; a group of "new students" playing off of each others behavior.

Especially Cycler!!!

Then we have the peace keepers, Still In Limbo, Cap, Wink, Backache, and they get blasted out of the water for trying to keep peace on the forum.

RE: helthcare
I see knees....
Mark you down in the Obama is a bad man and the Insurance Industry
Will Care for me column then ?

Just so there is no mistaken assumption, if you are going to disagree with my own personal opinion on health care then be sure you know what it is. I am in favor of the President of the USA leading the nation to improve the access to health care for all citizens of the USA. I am not in favor of the insurance industry continuing to siphon off bilions of dollars a year in excessive overhead and profit when those dollars are sorely needed to pay for direct health care. I am not in favor of the insurance industry arbitrarily denying or canceling health insurance coverage etc etc. I have been in favor of such restructuring of our health care system since first reading about it some 5 or 6 presidents ago and have supported each Presidents' agenda on the matter regardless of their political party affiliation. I believe it unconscionable and immoral that a country with the economic engine and ( compartmentalized ) wealth of the US does have a more intelligent approach to the health and welfare of it's citizens.

Beyond that it is simply a matter of an individual's own opinion and certainly a large minority of the US populace does believe that much of what they have heard to date will lead to the downfall of the health care insurance industry and the emergence of a de facto socialist medical system, a government run one-payor system. Some, perhaps most, also believe that such a scenario will be the ruination of health care in the US and, by some unstated mechanism, seem to infer that this will diminish the US in other unstated ways.

Perhaps they are right. Time will tell as it seems that the majority of voters are in favor of improved access and the political arm twisting of the DEMS is getting results. I would rather NOT see the Government involved in private sector health insurance but cannot imagine how the health insurance industry can agree to reduce profits and therefore investor interest to meet some laudable goal of offering wider and affordable access to health care.

I also object to froth mouthed ravings of the ill-informed who refuse to consider and understand the merits and position of their opposites. Reasoned dialogue is one thing, screeching pronouncements from the soapbox are quite another.
