What To Take To Bed With You
Please read, this is really a great tip!!!!!!!!!!

A tip for everyone

What to take to bed with you - not a joke

Pretty neat idea. Never thought of it before.

Put your car keys beside your bed at night

Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your
Dr's office, the check- out girl at the market, everyone you run
across. Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in
your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will
be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you
turn it off or the car battery dies.

This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you
come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think
of this:

It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and
requires no installation. Test it.

It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep
honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the
button on the key fob chain...

It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If your car alarm
goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are
the burglar/rapist won't stick around.

After a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their
windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't
want that.

And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a
parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This is
something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could
save a life or a sexual abuse crime.

P.S. I am sending this to everyone I know because I think it is
fantastic..

Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack,
where you can't reach a phone. My Mom has suggested to my Dad that
he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and she
doesn't hear him. He can activate the car alarm and then she'll know
there's a problem. Please pass this on even IF you've read it
before. It's a reminder.

RE: What To Take To Bed With You
I already keep the keys on my headboard, along with a flashlight.

That way I don't misplace the keys.

RE: What To Take To Bed With You
I think it is a great idea, But I am with Manley, My car is older and I do have an alarm if someone trys to steal my car radio, cd player but no alarm system on the car itself, So guess I will have to rely on the good old phone by the bed or "HELPPPP"

RE: What To Take To Bed With You
we put a alarm on John's truck after we had it groke into and put lights with sensors on the out side of the house, plus the dog barks when anyone comes in our yard.

May God send his angels to hold you in his arms

RE: What To Take To Bed With You
My van did not come with an alarm. I requested an alarm be installed when I purchased it and to make the sale it was installed at no cost to me.

RE: What To Take To Bed With You
I think this is a great idea also. How could setting an alarm becasue you are in danger ever be a fineable offense. I believe it could be if the alarm were to go off by accident or if through error. Once we were having trouble with Del's truck, and he got a very unkind note placed in our mail box by a neighbor..which we sent our sincere apologies with a gift. However, this does make up for waking people up in the middle of the night. I do believe inspite of this, that this is an excellent idea. It is sure a lot less expensive than hiring a service. We had a service in our home in NJ. Great idea...we are in the country and yet are a member of an association as everyone lives on 5 ac. plots... ...when we leave for more than a day there is a call sheet that we start a phone tag call so everyone will know whose car should be here and who should not.
