RE: vocational rehab. post two level fusion
The VR will go on & on , until they are satisfied that you will not be hired....and they tire of paying for the VR services. i doubt if they will ever offer you training or schooling because of your age, and it may not be an option in your state anyway. It was not offered to me as i was in mid fifties too.
WC contacted my lawyer prior to VR and said they'd like to settle. We gave them an amount first...they counteroffered, we did not except, and it's been in limbo ever since. They supposedly contacted lawyer recently with intrest in settlement....I just received papers from SS to fill out, for medicare set aside...so apparently there is movement in my case, but at turtle speed. You are not going to get rich with the settlement. I'm not even sure what the avg. settlement amount award is. Some people mention amounts in the hundreds of thousands of dollars....but i don't think it really turns out that way. take care, Lilly
Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!! A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless! |

RE: vocational rehab. post two level fusion
Slapshot53, I too am in Illinois. I will tell you this. The insurance will pay for it. Venturing out won't help you get it paid. They will start you out slow applying for work, have you sign up for job searches with the Illionois Department of Unemployment office, and then keep increasing your daily work searches, and appling for work, making follow up calls, and also going to those places in person. When no one hires you after a period of time, they will say you didn't proper comply, after you drove yourself nuts with this, recording everything. They stop your checks, and the fight starts, with settlement issues also.
Good Luck, it won't be a fun ride. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |
