RE: Won Soc. Sec. at hearing. Have ?'s.
Hi,
I am receiving SSD + W/C presently. My SSD is offset, meaning i don't get the full amount i would get, if I were not receiving W/C. I had to sign papers for a medicare set aside last summer. Medicare won't pay for future medical for my injury out of their own pockets....so there must be a pool for them to draw from, in case i need future assistance like surgery.
Take care. LillySmile

question: IW gets denied by WC. They wait a periond of time lets' say a year to apply for SSD. They are also denied by them. 3 years later WC settles the claim. 6 months later SSD is approved. IW ispaid back wages to DOI by WC. SSD also sends them a check back to 5-6 months after being disabled. ISn't that double dipping and getting paid twice for the same time periond. SSD shouldn't being paying back pay to this person should they?

SSDI can be got at the same time as WC you can collect up to 80% of your normal pay.....as many states pay only 66% this leaves some and then SSDI subtracts lawyer fees from your WC total and many of us were capped way below the 66% rate.......Honeys state cap was so lo he was able to collect full SSDI and WC.......something wrong there

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile
