A fun morning
A family friend called earlier this week needing help.

He is a single grandpa whom babysits his 21 month grandbaby while his daughter works.

This family friend is also disabled from a work injury and has a doctor appointment this moring.

So guess what I am doing this morning.

I have my bag packed, fine motor activities, easy arts & crafts,
and of course plenty of story books...Blues Clues & other adventures.

I still have all of my classroom supplies from working as an early childhood teacher.

I will post later how the morning went.

Bummer Knees

RE: A fun morning
It was a fun morning, before the morning was out this little one was working on her fine motor skills.

Cutting small stirps of paper, pasting with a glue stick, coloring & playing with play dough.

Even found time for Blues Clues and other story books. Of course I stayed within my restrictions and this little one is big enough that she can climb on my lap, no bending or lifting.

I am from a small town and this little one's mother worked at the college in HR when I was injured and was my strongest advocate. Mom no longer works for the college and works in another town.

RE: A fun morning
Bummer...this is just like you to help someone out especially where children are involved. I really miss you BTW.... I love to do these kinds of thing with children. I have all my grand children always coming to grandmas craft room, and now I have a little girl who is 4 years old coming every other thursday for one on one lessons... she is doing very well...and I am so proud of her...love Red

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

RE: A fun morning
Thank you everyone. I very much enjoyed the day. Sometimes when we have medical problems and spend a lot of time at home it seems as if no one from the outside world needs us or cares.

So it was nice to be needed.

Grandpa got a good report from his doctor and is not needing surgery at this time, he has problems with his back and while working as a correctional officer was assulted by an inmate.
