To Settle or Not To Settle

RE: To Settle or Not To Settle
Tuffy,
I about fell out of my chair when I saw the paltry sum that you had been offered for a back injury. Regardless of whether you have surgery or not, it is still a serious injury and deserves to be handled as such. Hell, I got over 10 grand for my injury to my right wrist and a 13% disability. I can still (for the moment) use my right hand for about everything that I could before my injury, other than heavy lifting.

I am glad that you aren't going to roll over and play dead on this. You fight those SOB's and win. We will all stand beside you and give you the encouragement (and shoulder to cry on if needed) to get you through this.

RE: To Settle or Not To Settle
It absolutely burns my butt that they would make an offer such as that, but then again the IC wants to pay as little as possible. Keep up the fight!

Tuffy

I have stayed out of this conversation because I knew that Tuffy had to make the decision for herself. I could tell you what I would do - but that may not be what Tuffy would do - but seems like it's now the same choice ......... lol

Gather up all your medical bills that you have paid yourself and be sure your attorney submits them at the time of the court hearing so that if you win you get reimburst for them as well. Also make sure your mileage figures are up to date as well if you guys get paid mileage in IL.

Hopefully badboy will pop in with more things that you need to get ready for your hearing - but those are things I know if not submitted at the time of the hearing you will lose forever.

Good luck and keep up the fight!!!!

RE: To Settle or Not To Settle
Thanks Pooh, I learned from Bad Boy when first joining this group to Document etc, etc. My attorney has everything I have as I sent copys to him, Co-pays, all out of pocket expenses etc so I,am covered. Before we go to court, According to attorney may take another year or so. Will need to go for an IME, with Attorney choice of Drs, see a WC Dr, depositions from IME and all that good stuff, My attorney will cover most of expenses, to come from any settlement.
