Shy I'm New To Forum
Hi! My name is Dot and although I am new to the forum, I've been on worker's comp for six LOnnnnGGGG years with a serious back injury and have had one heck of a year. I've become more discouraged and jaded this year becaue my original attorney almost lost my case for me, with the help of my pain management doctor (who says I can work as a nurse but I know I can't); I have an over-the-top adjuster; and a new attorney who seems to feel like I shouldn't bother her too much. I am looking at my second spinal fusion in three years, but only under the conditions that I quit smoking, exercise more, and lose 30 more pounds (i've lost 125), and it just seems so overwhelming. HELPPPP!!! Any suggestions?

Hi Dot:
I welcomed you on the "off topic area" but I'd like to do it again, and to thank you for putting your state in your profile.

I think you'll enjoy it here, there are many knowledgeable people willing to help.

Good Luck
Vickie

Dotsie welcome to the forum.

A good friend of mine also a nurse and injured worker is needing back surgery, her second. Wc refused surgery until she stops smoking and now she is going thru a series of nicotine test. After she stops smoking for four weeks her surgery will be scheduled.

RE: I'm New To Forum
HI Dot!
Welcome to the board where you are allowed to laugh ,talk, ask questions and even cry if need be. I wish I had your will power to quit smoking and loose some of this weight. That is something to be proud of, we as injured people tend to gain weight very quickly. I started gaining when I first hurt my back about 13 years ago and its been an uphill battlle every since. I don't know what to tell you about your questions but I just wanted to welcome you.

RH
