MSA Timeframe and requirements
I have a 7 year old Workers Compensation claim that never ends. The IC insisted on a MSA for a claim >20K. I signed the forms with Social Security 8 weeks ago. Experts in the field have stated that there is no requirement for this MSA based on law and that a simple MSA should take no longer than 5 weeks. Social Security told me it take around 4 weeks or less to send information (depending on workload) on injured workers. Agencies who prepare MSAs told me it take less than 1 week to prepare a simple MSA, again depending on work load.
Im waiting for the C&R from Insurance Company to get this 7 year case finished, yet all they want to do is stall and play games. If this case is for mutiple injuries and for 25-250K, going to CMS, I understand the need for an MSA to protect Medi-Care. For a case under 20K, no need, just a waste of more time. I have no intention of billing the government for any injury I have at any time. So why the delay, why the stall games? Why the need for a MSA? I want a conclusion to this case, not stall games. What can I do to conclude this 7 year old case, and continuing? How do I get a C&R? |
