I was reading thru CNN and read thru the reports on there and they were asking are you better off now than you were 4 years ago? We are treading water but are one disaster from sinking...so I ask are you better off than you were 4 years ago...
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?
Yes...
Financially; My Wife has a great job and I made a great salary with Union Wages which let me draw maximum from SSDI. Also, My WC settlement was "nice" financially" My MSA was also adequate.Physically No. I had a major heart issue in Dec 2011 where I almost died; I am now stable but having to be careful and take a lot of prescription drugs to survive. This just adds to my Permanent back injury but God is Good. My Girls have both graduated college and self dependent. We are debt free which is a blessing but we have always been smart with our finances. I was raised Dirt poor and wanted much better for my Family. I lost 90 pounds and have kept it off 18 months. Overall, I am thankful and I am better off. |

RE: are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?
I am happier now that my wc claim has settled. Finanical a little better off.
The medical, about the same.....2008 was the year of the knee replacement, it was a tough year of recovery but I can walk without the risk of falling due to the replacement happening. Since 2008, I've had the spine injury and surgery. Skin cancer with 3 surgerys. Bilateral carpal tunnel surgery. This year I am looking at surgery on both hands, and surgery on the right knee. |
