In a letter recieved from MES Solution's and another by the insurance, requesting the IM exam, I can be accompanied, record audio and/or video. Only need a weeks notice.
Sidenote: I recieved the letter Monday and the proceedure was scheduled for Friday. Called: yes I want to record. MES: that will be $300. Me: wait a minute? MES: and has to be a profession registered and licensed videographer. Mentioned it to my attorney, he's never heard of such outrageous - let alone any charge before. The fact it can't be done by a loved one or friend confuses me. [Oregon for back injury. Oct 2010] |

And this is in what State ? Hard to render an opinion without that information, as all States have different regulations.

According to Oregon Law - If you want an unpaid observer in the exam with you, you must complete the “IME Observer Form” and give it to the health care provider. The health care provider must allow you to have an unpaid observer in the exam with you if you want one, unless it is for a psychological exam. You may use a video camera or tape recorder to record the exam only if the health care provider.

I'm going through the same thing, here is a good article that give a rundown of what goes on with and ime process specific to Oregon. Mine was a psychological IME and I was not allowed to bring anyone with me. Still waiting the results.
