RE: update on flood
I know I shouldn't stick my nose in here, but I have to say, I understand where Jayne's coming from. There are so many things I would like to do, but I won't risk reinjuring myself to do them. It sucks to not be able to take my kids to Worlds of Fun, not be able to go bowling or dancing, but I won't take the risk. I want to heal so I can do things later without the worry.
I don't know Princess, so I won't comment on the rest except to say, I understand where you are coming from Jayne.
Sorry if I have made anyone mad.

RE: update on flood
Jayne, nothing you have done wrong.

I grew up in a flood area twice growing up my family had to start from square one, we lost everything we owned due to flooding.

Thought it would never happen again and it happen a second time.

The third time we were able to salvage some items, and yes it can be done.

My Dad refused to move after the first flood, said this is my home and I'm not leaving.

RE: update on flood
Well, I'm not mad for one. Second, how can someone state they been off meds, then claim to wish to go back on them, from 6/23/07, was stating still on them and mowing the lawn.

http://www.workerscompensationinfo.com/f...hp?tid=686

But either way, I made my statement as to what the father had said. It was addressed that way too. If you need to bring garbage out, one makes the loads to a proper weight to do so. It only takes a few extra trips. Tables, or cabients, can be dragged or pushed out, using a childs wagon or something, then kick out by the garbage.

There is never a need for someone to hurt themself, all they have to do is use common sense.

I too, dealt with flooded basements, and mold. It's a task, but still to be safe and have good quality air, it must get done.

RE: update on flood
Jayne and everyone else, no one wants anyone to leave. When I first read this I wanted to comment but held my tongue for once. I don't know the history here that has led to all these feelings and pent up emotions. I do believe however, that everyone expresses themselves differently and copes with the changes of life differently. I would have preferred that we gave her a little more latitude, I am however a realist. A lot of what you were questioning popped up in my mind, but i like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes that is all it takes to help someone move from their percieved role of victim to independence or to take charge of their lives. However, it is very difficult to take control of your life when you are in pain and have no finances. At times like this people especially young single mothers lean a lot on the genorosity of others. I don't mean just financies either, I mean understanding, caring, and supporting. I agree with BB ...even now I would get my trash out if I had to sit on my butt and move it with my feet to the location of trash. I am just that stubborn about my independence. However, I don't have to do that. I have a family who cares deeply for me, and they never would allow that to happen. I don't understand exactly the relationship between princess and her father, but I do know that not all families operate or function as mine or yours. Don't get me wrong, my family has a lot of dysfunction, but we would never leave one of our family members in a house that had been flooded. I wouldn't leave my puppy there much less one of my grand children. So I don't understand this part. I also understand that we only hear one side of the story which may have it biases.

None of what I said is relevant as I believe she has now left again. My heart goes with her, in that I feel for her and her daughter. She was, after all, a part of this family.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

RE: update on flood
I have been a reader on the sidelines for a while, but as a former property manager I had to register and give my 2 cents.

Nothing in this story makes sense. As described to us, any apt mgr or mgmt company would quickly work to fix any issues that could ultimately be a liability because of health concerns and such. She even said she has sued them before. They have insurance for these things. I can only figure that this is not nearly as bad as we are being told, and/or the apt complex is sick of always dealing with endless crap from a total pain in the ass. This person does seem to have a fight with everybody. They are probably praying she'll move. Personally I will be praying for her little girl. She doesn't stand a chance.

RE: update on flood
Wink, I think I understand what you mean by "Behaviors of others, reflections of you" and if it means what I think it means, then no. I have my feelings about some things because of what I have seen others do that is just like princess. I have also discovered that sometimes you don't have to support people just because we are all human. Some people will bring you down and you have to make the decision to get them out of your life. Now whether things have been done right or not, I don't know, but sometimes people do need to know how they come across to others and how they affect their lives.
Again, this is just my thoughts and anyone can take them or leave them. I don't want to hurt anyone, but sometimes others who help, not hurt, deserve not only our support, but the opportunity to speak their minds.
