Just a thought. Is this forum safe? - bagpussinamerica - 11-10-2009 03:41 PM

I have just been talking to another injured worker who has not yet posted to this forum. She told me that another person has warned us about what we post to the forum. I know that I saw some discussion about this when I first joined the forum in 2007. I know that we can hide our identity, but what about those of us with fairly unique conditions. Would it be better not to post anything about our conditions in this case?

But then I ask myself why would anyone want to search the forum for people in the first place? Any ideas?

.....or who would care ? Your claims arguments are already out there to the interested parties.

I always felt that asa long as I told the truth it didn't matter to me if I was stalked or not. JMO!

True. Which leads me to believe that it really doesn't matter as long as I am being truthful about my condition. And I can't imagine who would really care about what pain I am in, or what I am doing about being proactive in my own treatment and care...except those of us who would benefit from what ever my experience may be. I have racked my brain as to what could be damaging, which is why I posted the thread.

The only thing an I/C would be looking for is "fraud" of an injured worker.

Say, you come on here and talk about the skiing trip you went on or the roof repair you did, etc. And you are off work and injured, supposedly unable to get out of a chair. Also, if you talk about the side jobs you do to earn extra money, that are clearly out of your wc restrictions.

I do believe IC's check these boards, but I doubt very much they care about us talking and helping and complaining. Looking for fraud is what they live for. To nail a fake is like a badge of honor.

Just don't use your real name, post any personal information like your phone number, email address, place of employement. Be honest and respectful in your posts. Anything else would be spectulative.

We cannot be paranoid. We have to be smart and above all truthful.

Nothing to hide, Nothing to lose.

If I saw a post like that I'd be calling them myself.......

Oc course an fraud case wouldn't be on a comp board anyway would they?

In my experience this is not true although I have often seen the same thoughts expressed on other Comp boards. I speak with and interview claims and case management folks fairly regularly and have found out they either have no idea boards exist or seem in the least bit interested in wasting time reading them. One told me that they had checked a particular site and all the folks there sounded just like all the crackpots she spends all day avoiding......

As the claims folks see it, they don't really care about fakes or not since how can they tell ? Their world revolves around documentation and reasonable causal relationships, true or not. Peter Rousmaniere's writings are a good place to get to know the "other sides" concerns.

I have a lot of Posts on this Board, over 4,000 in the Years I've been Here, and My Case is Worth Mid-High 6 Figures, and if I didn't Feel Safe, I surely wouldn't be Putting that Much Money into Jeopardy!! Always Remember, if it's True, Post it, if Your Afraid of Posting it, don't and just Read and Post what You Believe is Safe, and if the PI's were to Read All 4,000 or so of My Posts and Figure out who I am, They aren't going to Find a Word that isn't in the Transcripts that have been Made into the 15 Hearings I've been Dragged to!! I Believe that this Site Used as Evidence would Help Me, there are Things on Here about Personal Matters that I didn't Divulge in Hearings, because They knew Better to Ask!! And if They Use One Word, They'll have to Use Them All, and I Think the Judge would go Nuts Reading all of My Posts!! This Site is Very Safe, don't Worry!!Smile

Its probably too much like hard work. What I would like to see on here though, is some sort of political person who would take the time and interest to see what side of the health care system NEVER gets discussed...unless its bad publicity. Lately I have been really struggling financially and every option I have tried to get some other type of assistance...like food stamps or something..I make like $10 too much. Which is fine. I know that they all have to draw a line somewhere. But with the economy going downhill and the likes of us on a w/c payment...no one seems to take into account that everything else we have to pay for it going up. And these are the essentials. We just fall between the lines.

Two weeks ago I accidently came across my previous employer. This is the one I was working with when I got hurt. This is also the one who fired me one week into filing the claim. She didn't ask how I was, or even just say hello. She looked at me as if I was some sort of bum looking for a handout. And the problem is...she actually succeeded in making me feel just like that. The system is in place to help an injured worker and to make sure that the employer doesn't get a law suit against them. And we don't file those claims just for the heck of it. Lets see what we can make off of the system. Right. Like who ever gains on being on w/c.

Sorry. Its a bad day.
