year later still hurting - lovesgardening - 10-02-2009 09:35 AM

5\2008 fell at wrk, messed up left knee, (Illinois) torn miniscus had surgery,8/2008 released 9/2008 to go back to work, but, lost job while on wc. Went on unemployment due to losing job. Still suffering major pain in knee. Lawyer sent me to 2nd dr. Had 2nd surgery 3/2009. He repaired torn miniscus, there were fragments floating in knee, and he cleaned up area. Went to pt for 3 months. All this time (2nd dr) was going to only allow me to work 3 hrs a day with restrictions. 2nd dr. stated knee has 80% degenerative arthuritis in it and there's nothing more he can do except knee replacement and he stated I was to young (49). Never had a problem with my knees before this happened. After 1st surgery, complained of pain in right knee to dr. having to shift all weight on it due to surgery of left knee. (this is in his records also).
At exit interview with 2nd dr. he released me full time no restrictions even tho I am having pain. can't sit or walk for any extended period of time. 2nd dr. and pt also knows of my complaints of right knee hurting. lawyer is trying to get me in to 2nd dr. to deem if it was because of left knee as to problems with right knee. preliminary hearing for left knee this month. Would wc be responsible to cover right knee problems? What happens at a preliminary hearing? Have not been able to get a job, and can't do the work I did before. I can't walk stairs or put any weight on knee. life just sux for me.
