my mail has been getting forwarded im starting to think it was sent to my old address? my lawyer called ins comp and they said it was sent out on 09/14/09 something is wrong i should have it by now

i called my local post offices and they dont have my check. its been 8 days sent it was sent and i asked mr postman if thats normal for being forwarded and he said yes. even when i lived at my old address they were still forwarding from my other address so its like they had to forward it twice. i have called this week and my address is all changed so this wont happen again. thank you everyone for all your help. ill keep you posted. anothe rday of window watching for the mailman today it better be today this is driving me nuts. nothing like knowing it was finaly sent and i have no idea where it is

Call your attorney to have another reissued to the correct address, or have it sent to the attorneys office. That simple...

ok i just talked to my lawyer,she said she would call the ic if i want and have them re issue another but if it comes say tom then its no good till i get a new one. i told her ill hold off till monday because with my great luck it will come tom. but its out there somewhere

I would give it a few more days till Monday at least. If you do have them re-issue a check then the other one will not be good anymore and you would have to wait all over again for the new one issued.
I did have a problem with WC sending me my mileage reimbursement check and kept wondering where it was and it was given to someone else who then sent it back to the post office and it took about a week longer to get it sent to me. Sometimes the mailman gives my mail to my neighbors and vice versa....grrr.....it figures it would be late when it is a check eh? I also would think it would come certified if it is a large sum. I wonder if you can request it that way so this does not happen again.

thank you very much sparkey i did tell my lawyer yesterday i will wait till monday before i have the re issue another one i know if i did this it would come today. so im hoping it comes today and your right figures its a check for me thats late if it was a bill or bad news it would be here right away. it just makes me nervous that its a large check and its floating around out there somewhere. i guess i have waited 8 months whats a few more days this is much needed money. i was also told some more good news that my weekly checks are to start again and that too was sent 3 days ago thank god.my lawyer changed my address with the ic and comp so i wont have this problem again i recieved a letter confirming this yesterday

i have one more question. the check iam to recieve is for the last 8 months is sent . now will i get another check for the interest or penalties seperate from this?

My opinion is, you will see your weekly check, before the big check, being safe means if someone cashes the big one, your going to wait longer then you think. This is why I say, get it reissued now. What difference does a week make to get another check, when you waited 8 months now. Be safe with money floating around, be smart about it.
Ask about direct deposit.
