Hello - gramma_housie hurts! - 08-20-2009 12:28 PM
Hi there. I am new to this so bear with me, I am a Colorado native and was injured almost two yrs ago on the job moving a very heavy 100+ lbs of weight. I have recently got a SCS implant and doc has put me at MMI in June. I recently got terminated from my job after 20 years of dedicated employment. I am hopefully going to get disability retirement pay if all works out. I am so done with the pain that i endure daily. Burning, throbbing and stabbing throughout my left leg (and rotator cuff shoulder surgery) and it doesn't go away even though this SCS is in me... I have been told that I have to learn to live in pain and nothing else they can do. I try to get my SCS adjusted and it only helps temporarily. Now, i feel that I have to live with it in me and my God it will be another (regret) have inside me to deal with Charging it is no fun.. makes me feel a tired and zapped afterwards. What did I do so badly that this nightmare has left me like this?? I have really enjoyed reading this forum and finally got time since Im retired now to join. So many of you have really helped me and my questions constantly have been answered. THANKS for the support and make it a good day -- I am trying to also.

My opinion is, ask or get another medical opinion, and you may ask your treating doctor to refer you to Pain Management.

thankx for the encouraging words about the message board.
good information can be a strong force in the mental/emotional battle that a serious work injury inflicts.

Welcome Gramma, and Welcome to the Forum!! I am Disabled with a Lower Back filled with Scar Tissue, so I Understand Your Pain! I Have a Great Pain Management Dr., and believe Me without Her, I would be Much Worse than I am Now!! I live at a 7-8 on a Daily Basis, and the Breakthrough Pain they haven't Calculated a Number for that One Yet, 10 isn't Close!! But You do actually Learn to do what You can to get by, and Limit Your Pain!! My Best to You, and Again Welcome!!
