Hey Y'all

Left Texas at about 3:30 Sunday afternoon, and was sitting in the southwest lower corner of MI on Monday about noon. I now have my youngest son with me and we spent the past 2 days in DeWitt, MI with my daughter. We headed for Dearborn Heights in the lower southeast corner this afternoon and arrived at about 4. I have put just over 1300 miles on my car. Strange when you think I was in 6 states in less than 24 hours to get where I am.

Got to finally hold those three wonderful grandbabies of mine this afternoon. In fact, after about 3 hours of playing and chasing them around the yard this afternoon, Grandma was definitely ready for a nap .. which I have yet to get. Big Grin It's going to be hard leaving here on Saturday to head to my momma's. But if all goes right, I will be back up here in September to see my newest grandbaby being born.

I am having a great time, taking lots of pics that I will have to learn to load onto the computer so that I can share them with y'all. Can't wait to get to Colorado though and get some pics of my beloved Rockies to take back to TX with me.

Of course, as is usual with all great vacations, the time is just moving to fast for me. And I am crazy enough, that I am taking all three grandbabies shopping with me tomorrow. if I could do it with my three kids, I should still be able to handle it with them Rolleyes

Will be back home either late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, just in time to get things together for our next trip, out to east Texas and Caddo Lake.

Jayne, I am still hoping to make it to your place in July after we spend the 4th at Broken Bow !!!

I did get my settlement papers just before I left home. I signed them and sent them back to my attorney and they are sitting on a judge's desk somewhere waiting for his/ her signature. I should, if all goes right, have a check in the mail before long. My attorney is having them do 2 seperate checks so that I don't have to wait for mine. And she is also working on getting me my travel pay as well. I have a phone interview with my SSDI attorney on the 16th of this month to go over all of my paperwork .. I am hoping that they will be able to get that going and be approved before the end of summer.

Y'all have a great Friday .. I will update ya as I can.

Having a great time

Afternoon Y'all,

I arrived home in one piece at 4 Am this morning. Although I feel as if all those trucks I passed on the road hit me while I slept the little I did. Two, 2 hour naps between 4 and 9:30. I was up at 6 AM watching the sun rise with my little dog.

Put approximtely 3300 miles on my car in the 8 days that I was gone. I sure don't relish the idea of getting back in it soon and doing any more driving, but have things to do tomorrow that will require it all the same. And on Thursday, it will be another 300 some odd miles to east Texas. I am however looking forward to that one, as I will be able to sit and enjoy the peace and quite the trip affords me. I am always one of the first ones up in the morning...generally before the sun comes up and my little dog and I sit outside and watch the sun come up. I am, however the chief cook and bottle washer.. so spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Which isn't a biggie to me.. as I love cooking for big groups..the more the better.

As soon as I figure out how to transfer pics from my camera to the computer and save them to a sight I can post here, I will get that done. Probably after this next trip, as I will have more pics to post.

It was hard leaving MI..what with 2 of my children and the grandbabies there. I wasn't there 30 minutes before the son had to run an errand and left me to babysit the 4 year old twins. They had poor gramma worn out within the hour. I'm not used to chasing little ones around the yard. But they sure had an appetite for my sausage gravy over bread. All three of them ate 2 big bowls each. I can't even eat that much. ~LOL~ I am hoping to be back up there in September when my newest granddaughter is born, and take the trip over to spend more time with them.

Got to run, still haven't finished unloading all the crud in the car, and then need to clean out all the dog hair and trash. I sure don't relish that job as it is hot and humid here today. But it sure is good to be back home.

Have a great week.
