REQUEST FOR NEW QME - BACKHURTS - 03-26-2009 06:08 PM

I am in CA

My QME always takes way longer than 60 days to send in his reports. I have had a report, a re-evaluation and a 2nd re-evaluation for Permanent and Stationary recommendations. Once again he has past his 60 days - I have just found out that I can request the entire QME process start over again with a new QME provider. This one rated me very low compared to my treating MD.

What are your thoughts on starting all over ?

I do not have an attorney and really don't want to get one at this point as they will just take part of my stipulation award.

On the 60 day you should request suspenion of the QME process and request another. make sure that they have not requested an extention of time.
make sure your copy the carrier and the doctor with the request and ask that tehy not pay the bill. they'll only improve if it starts affecting their bank acct.
