Sparkey- I take Effexor XR for the RSD pain, it helps but doesn't stop it all. I also take darvocet when it gets bad. I sleep with a electric mattress pad that seems to help as well. I avoid cold air drafts as well as it doesn't take much cold air to set it off and cause pain in my arm that feels as it is on fire. I have RSD in both arms and the top of my head. When it is bad I have a hard time brushing my hair as can't stand to touch my head. So long hair had to go and had a perm put in so I can wash and go.
They tried Lycra but I could not take it.
Good luck in finding something that at least makes the paiin where you can live with it.

Thank you Vic. I will have to write those drugs down and ask my doctor about them when I see him. I know he was not to keen on the last pain clinic having me on Oxycontin. He went on and on about trying to take me off it. I take percocet and that and it was the only longer lasting med that made the pain go away to work all day or I would of ended up in bed crying in pain. I still have very bad days with even taking the oxy so I can imagine without. It has such a bad rep. with alot of people and doctors and personally I have gone about 4 or 5 days without and missed it but did not go crazy without.
If I can find a longer lasting drug or better controlled drug I prefer to change it. I personally did not want to be on the oxy and loved taking the methadone as it was the best pain reliever but had a rash from it. It worked so well for the pain. I have now been on this Topamax for a few days and now waking up with the bad tingling in my feet and hands. I hope I get the other side effect of weight loss.LOL. Other than pain relief, that has not worked yet. I go for a MRI today of the cervical area and hopefully they find a big bulging disc and it is not RSD and can be treated. PS. I thought of a perm myself..lol and thinking of a nice haircut as my hair is getting so long now and hard to wash and brush without pain.

Tinkerbell...I am so glad to hear that the clinic is now taking some accountibility for mwhat you have been experiencing. They should have do ne this a lone time ago. Good luck sweetie and as always you are in my prayers. Love Red
