Tizz,

Don't worry about not being contacted just yet. Just because the HR person filled out the First Report, doesn't mean it actually got to the adjuster yet. Most companies I worked for had a similar procedure:
1. The first report is received and the claim is entered into the Insurance Carrier's system.
2. The claim is forwarded to a supervisor for assigning to an adjuster.
3. The adjuster usually then has 24-48 hours (working days) to make the initial contact.

Every company has different procedures and some are better organized than others. That also goes for each individual adjuster. Some just work faster and are more organized than others.

That being said, you can call the insurance company and explain that a claim has been filed and you are waiting to hear from your adjuster. If they have the claim already, they should be able to tell you who it is.

Also, your employer may not have given you a panel (list) of doctors, because many times they don't understand the WC laws any better than you. Talk to the HR person and ask them for the list. The statute that required this is 50-6-204, sections (a)(4)(A),(B),© & (D). Here's a link: http://www.workerscompensation.com/regulations/stateitem.php?ID=20162&state=tennessee&Parent=1921&title=

Again, don't worry. But also, keep on top of it and don't let it go too long.

I think the Hr gal told me that our company uses AIG
for anything pertaining to Wc. The HR gal I believe isn't real noligable about WC stuff either. Kind of like the blind leading the blind so to speak. I'll wait a few more days to see if I hear anything else then go from there.

Just curious, Why wait????? Why not call AIG yourself??????? Just curious.

Take Care

Well someone had said that it might not be a good idea to contact them because it would make me seem anxious. If i do decide to contat them,Im assuming AIG is the ones I need to contact?? Thats who my employer uses for WC.

Yeah I hear what your saying!!! SOme days the pain is ok and other days like tonight,My elbow is killing and my hand is as well.

I just called AIG and they said an adjuster would be calling me soon. I explained to her that I had not been given a list of 3 doctors to see and what should I do. She told me to go to a website and look for doctors in the area I want to go. She also told me it may be best for me to wait until an adjuster calls me in case I need to be seen by a pspecialist which Im sure I
will have to.

if your pain is 8 or above and you have no pain relief go to the ER and explain all to them...
