I Am So Glad I'm Home - chrischris - 06-13-2008 08:48 PM After a dr. appt., I went to the nearest Starbuck's and waited in a long line. When I got up to the pick up wndow, they had no record of my order that I had just given then thru the speaker. Ugh! So I waited, then the car behind me rear ended me. It jolted my neck and surprised me. I got out, he got out. No harm done to my bumper, but he yelled at me for taking so dam* long! I can't take anybody yelling at me these days, so I got back in my car, wrapped a tight towel around my neck, and started crying. When I got 20 miles from home, my fuel light came on, and I've never really tested it before, but I made it into town and went to my usual gas statation. I put in my credit card and the glare was so bright I couldn't see the instructions and then it started beeping at me. I went into the office and they asked what pump I was on and I said #6, so I left them my credit card until I was finished. Well, the gas wouldn't pump out and then I realized I was on #5. OMG, there was a guy on the other side of me on #6. I went over to him and explaind and he was very nice and moved his vehicle forward. The only problem was for me to get to #5 I had a very sharp turn, which my neck will not do yet, so I inched my way back and forth, until I hit the red warning post and couldn't move anymore. I got out, and some guy came over to me and I asked him if he would help me. He drove my car around the parking lot in order to get it in that tight space, but now I have red paint above my left wheel. Oh well, at least it matches the blue paint about a foot in front of it where I hit the storm drain of our house a couple of months ago. The good news is that now my car is Red, White, and Blue. All patriotic. I can just hear my husband!!!!!! Why I went to the dr. was for an MRI of my achilles tendon. I can't wait to find out the results of that test. Hope everyone else had a great Friday the 13th! ![]() ![]()

RE: I Am So Glad I'm Home - vickinat - 06-13-2008 11:56 PM Chris, Don't take any chances with your neck this soon after surgery. If it is still bothering you, you should contact your Dr. and let him know. I hope that the guy who bumped your car while you were in line, at least gave you his ins. information in the event that you were more injured than you thought, but it didn't sound like he did. I hope that you feel better after a nice nights sleep. Feel free to call me if you want to. I'm sorry you had such a crappy day. Love Vickie RE: I Am So Glad I'm Home - RNvic - 06-14-2008 12:21 AM Chris sorry you had such a bad day. Hopefully Saturday will be better. If your neck is hurting and you can't move it go back to the dr. The jarring may have put something out of alinement. I will pray for some releave of the pain and increase in movement. jayne, enjoy the babby kittens, they are sooooooooooo cute. Good for lowering your BP. RE: I Am So Glad I'm Home - Bummer Knees - 06-14-2008 03:36 PM Chris I learned from my auto accident it dosen't take much of a bump to cause problems with your neck. The first sign that I was having problems with my neck was the "bunching-up" of the neck muscles and with 24 hours came the hard muscle spasms. Perhaps security cameras can pickup detailed information about the the person that bumped you. |
