north Carolina, need answers - tnicholson3 - 08-14-2012 10:05 PM Hey, i'm in north Carolina. I'm 23, recent eye injury resulting in loss of peripheral vision and extremely low visual acuity. So, I have been released to go back to work full duty with no restrictions but I am still blind in my left eye. it has only been three months since I've been outta work. My question now is, will this mess up my set[/i]tlement now that I am released to work with no restrictions? RE: north Carolina, need answers - hurt back - 08-14-2012 10:17 PM As far as settlement you should have been given an impairment rating when placed at MMI... As far as returning to work, is there any restrictions? I don't personally think this will affect your settlement when you do get it but in the w/c world you never know.. The w/c world is totally different than any other.. But like I said you should be fine thats pretty much their way of saying you're not disabled and all resources have been "exhausted" Hopefully someone else can chime in and help out a lil more. RE: north Carolina, need answers - AQA - 08-14-2012 10:35 PM No. You are not going to get any more temporary monitary benifits. Simply because you were released to work. The amount of your settlement ( if any ) is not going to change because you went back to work. RE: north Carolina, need answers - tnicholson3 - 08-14-2012 10:49 PM Thanks guys. I believe that I will receive some type of settlement because I received a discovery letter from my lawyer. I returned that yesterday. So does i that mean i'm in the clear for money? And hurt back, I have not received any type of mmi at all! Am I suppose to have one? Hurt back, I have not received any type of mmi yet! Should I have already received that?! Also, since I am released back to work, that means that I can't have a disability even though I am blind in my left eye?! Some people with a lot more disability then you can return to work as a sleep study subject. ![]() Disability ratings are for any bodily impairment not just the ones used in your job. |
