OH NO...Sithie, you keep that white stuff with you. I will send you the maple toddy...it smells wonderful.
Are weather has fall smelling in the air...cold at night. Will be covering the tomatos....we have so many green ones and still want to make salsa...not me making it...my Dad does....it is so good... can't make it fast enough...the family eats it up.

Spring,
If you feel the need to pick those green tomatos just pick them. Set them on a cabinet in your house and they will continue to get ripe. We have had to do that many times. Pick them before the weather gets to them. God Bless and take care.

Will have to do that with alot of them. Todays weather is nice. But you know it is getting that time of year where you can't trust the night time. Hubby is covering them...and to tell you the truth I don't have enough cabinet space for all...but atleast I could save a few by doing it. Guess I could put some in bags and take them to my parents house and all my brothers and sisters houses....I have a few pumkins...well two...the rest died on us. But we have a huge one....that I have babied all summer....Growing it for my newphew...we are guessing it weighs 50 pounds.

OK, I love salsa, but there is nothing better than fried green tomatoes!!! If I had tomato plants, half of them would probably be eaten green. And I would be the only one eating them! No one else here likes fried green tomatoes. Crazy people!

KS girl, You can come to my house anytime and eat fried gren tomatoes as I grew up on them, we could have a eating good time.
Spring, You can even place the tomatoes on newspapers on the floor in a cool area and they will do well. We have already had a hard frost here. and now in the 70s, go figure.

if you have a basement or shed that wont freeze you can pull the vines up by the roots and hang them upside down by the roots they will ripen slowly and you will have them well up into the winter.......our barn rafters have vines hanging till well into feb

you want something awesome take green(just starting to pink up) tomatos,yellow onion ,okra,and yellow squash ...slice and dip in milk and roll in mexican cornbread mix fry till brown and crisp now that good eating
