Complete spine failure - mjbca - 03-28-2012 03:30 PM

I currently live in Southern California and have a current WC case with a lawyer. But I need advice , my story started in 1984 when I fell 3 stories in a construction accident in NY . That case was settled out of court however at the time there was nothing showing up in my spine! It was approximately approximately 6 years before I started having major symtoms of the neck and back. I finally had l4-l5 fused in california in 1999. i have paid for most procedures out of pocket, as I have had a very successful business! Four years ago my back pain erupted again and I found out that my spine is degenerating at an elevated pace . I found a new career and lasted one year before being unable to move my head. This brings me to today and my work comp case and lawyer. The doctors that I've been sent too suggest cervical surgery on three disc's, but I'm not ready to try that! I had found a pain management doctor before I hired the
attorney and he has been successful in treating the pain however I believe I am completely disabled as I cannot sit , walk ,run or do much of anything for very long the pain is just not manageable to the point were I could go back to my earning potential.I feel ripped off in that this whole thing started with a work injury that even science does not know how to treat yet.Sorry for the drawn out post but I'm pretty upset!

if you often find yourself angry and depressed, ask your doctor for a referral for some counseling.

Well it is upsetting butI'm wondering if I have any options as far as this being just a continued medical problem?

you should get a second medical opinion if you want treatment alternatives.
