Functional Capacity TEST before THERAPY? - inquiringMIND - 02-17-2012 10:59 AM Hi, PTP ordered more PHYSICAL THERAPY several weeks ago during last visit. Adjuster never responded after multiple inquiries by drs office regarding authorization. Followed up with PTP (of course without therapy done). Dr. says since PT is not authorized, he will order a FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY TEST. I told dr I will pay out of pocket for PT and not wait for authorization, although i thought after 15 days if there was no denial letter, i would be automatically authorized by default. Dr. says they may not reimburse me but that's ok. I need therapy...... Dr ordered PT again but i'm not holding my breath for any reimbursement. What's the point of a FCT if PTP says i need more therapy? smh... Thanks for your input. RE: Functional Capacity TEST before THERAPY? - 1171 - 02-17-2012 11:37 AM maybe it'll show how disabled you are without the Physical Therapy. if they are not going to provide treatment then they'll have to pay higher impairment. RE: Functional Capacity TEST before THERAPY? - inquiringMIND - 02-17-2012 12:00 PM 1171-PTP mentioned that CA may not auth therapy if felt i am at MMI, although he thinks i havent had enough PT. Do "impairment ratings" have anything to do with FCT? Should the FCT be done after PT? In Cali do IW have a voice in who does the testing or is this choice made by PTP OR CA? As always, thanks for your insight ![]() (02-17-2012 11:37 AM)1171 Wrote: maybe it'll show how disabled you are without the Physical Therapy.
