relatively simple question... first posting on board... - painintheneck2 - 09-07-2010 11:37 PM I have an approved WC case in Pennsylvania. I was in an accident in January and thus far nothing I have needed has really been denied. The pain has shot up to almost (ALMOST) an unbearable level, after having come down a bit through physical therapy and medications. My doc is not in till Thursday... if the pain keeps at the level it is or increases, can I go to the ER or do I have to wait till Thursday when my appointment is scheduled? I ask as I don't want to go and then find out I had to notify someone first and, consequently, end up receiving a large bill. Thank you RE: relatively simple question... first posting on board... - 1171 - 09-08-2010 12:49 AM yes, you can go to the er or any other doctor in an emergency. RE: relatively simple question... first posting on board... - painintheneck2 - 09-08-2010 01:45 AM Great! I sort of figured as much, but wanted to be sure I wasn't crossing any lines. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
RE: relatively simple question... first posting on board... - Timothy Belt - 09-08-2010 09:04 AM PA only has a 90 day captive treatment period. After the 90 days you can treat with whoever you want and it is covered so long as it is reasonable, necessary and causally related. |
