Hi All,
My WC doc yesterday admitted that I have 50+ percent narrowing of my joint space just medially in my left knee. (That means my knee is leaning in, throwing off my gait, putting stress on my muscles and hip)
But I'm too young at 51 to get a knee replacement.

Crap, bull, what if it was his knee?

Bodybuilder look for another doctor. My sister just had a knee replacement yesterday and she is younger than you. She is only 48.
My husband had a hip replacement right after his 52nd b-day. Dr. said it will probably last him for life. He wa stalking maybe 30-35 years.
This age factor depend on what doctor you talk to.

I was injured at age 48 and told up front a replacement was in my future.

Course it took years to get the replacement approved.
get another doc !! i had my doc tell me i was too old (59 at the time) to have gall stones . i had to get another doc, he had to rush me in to take the gall bladder out since i got pancreitis from it so please be careful
a medial unloading brace will work great and buy you years of time. 50% narrowing is not an indication for total knee replacement.
No doubt about it, Bodybuilder needs additional treatment with her knee.

When I was injured in 2005 the MRI showed mild narrowing of the joint spaces of the left knee.

By the summer of 2006 I was having great difficulity walking.

My replacement was June 2008, after the surgery the surgeon told my husband,
"I am sorry, I did not realize how bad her knee was"

I now have moderate narrowing of the lateral joint space of the othe knee (right), I have the same symptoms as before; the buckling, the pain.

2007 had meniscus surgery, pilca resectioning, & chrondyl repair with the right knee.

Don't really know what road I will travel with the right knee.

Can't pick my wc doc in Kansas, two are on my side. Two against, I'm hoping that my lawyer will find a tie breaker.

Actually 50% with my gait is an indicator. Don't need a total, just a medial replacement. Can't wear an unloader brace, when I fell at home it totally messed up something, had one, now it hurts more to wear it. We've tried 2 braces since I fell, now I've developed a sensitivity to latex, so most of the braces break me out.

I'm open to an AKA.

What works best with the attorney is to schedule an appointment, sit down with him as ask where you are with getting a decision from the judge.

The attorney can talk to the judge and remind her a decision needs to be made soon.
He has done this for me in the past.

Remember the judge has 5 working days to make a decision, court was Dec, 17, 09.

With the doctor placing you at MMI and rating you, this could be the end of wc for you.

I've seen the way you walk, seen you when you've been in pain.

You do need additional medical treatment!
