I work for a company that does occ med in Nevada. We have a form we give the companies we have contracts with. This form specifies what they require when we see an injured worker. With regard to urine drug screens, our form offers two options for an instant drug screen: 5 panel or 10 panel. The employer checks off what they want and thats what we do.
However, there are different types of instant screens. Some kits test for urine pH and creatinine in addition to the drugs. My question is this: are there any local, state, or federal requirements that specify whether a panel with pH and/or creatinine must be included in these instant tests when it involves injured workers? If no and its up to the employer, should our form be updated to include this option so we can do it if the employer wishes?
