as far as seeing freebird removed from the site i presonally would not want to see that..from my experiance with his responses they have all been posative and helpful i just think this got a little out of hand

Inpain, Everyone has Bad Days and Bad Threads, Freebird and I Locked Horns Before but Worked it Out, and Their Answers to Questions Pertaining to a Lot of Issues have been Very Informative to Me. I think Deep Down You knew that Avatar would Cause a Fuss, Possibly for Fun,not to be Negative, but There are many Folks on Here that have Children and May Look Over Their Parents Shoulder, and See Something Like that. I Agree it was Funny, just in the Wrong Place! Merry Christmas, ADMIN. has Made His Statement, so I Think in My Opinion We should Leave it at that!!

My answer to you post reflects my own opinion to some degree but more so the currant peer reviewed Spine literature from which my opinion is derived.
While many well trained and highly professional anesthesiologists and Physiatrists provide high quality, evidenced based treatment of chronic pain patients which may include all the various types of injection treatments, implantable pain pumps and Spinal Cord Stimulators along with a multidisciplinary approach to the patient with aggressive Physical therapy and mental health counseling; i.e. all that anyone could ask of them, those clinics are sadly far from the norm.
There is simply too much money to be made from a "Pain Clinic" and that has attracted the greedy, the charlatans, and the incompetent like no other medical/chiropractic venture seen before. There is simply no credible scientific basis for much of what passes for pain management and the respected Journals are on record saying so and the NUMBER ONE procedure of their list of evils is spinal fusions, a "worthless and harmful procedure" is how it has been characterized by true experts in the field of Spine Surgery.
"Facet Injections" are number two on the hit list of worthless procedures btw......
So you may be among the few lucky souls well cared for. Count your blessings.

Still in Limbo Wrote:Cycler, I have a Question so I am Sure We are Talking about the Same Things. You Refer to Pain Clinics, and I See a Pain Management Specialist in a Private Dr.Setting. They can Do Injections Under the Fluoroscope, and not Only do They have the Latest FCE Equipment, Many Defense Attorney's Send Patients There for Testing. Tens Units, Acupuncture, Aqua Therapy are all Available when They can Help, and Narcotics are Used on the Ones that the Other Treatments won't Work for. Now just Less than a Mile from My Home is a Methadone Clinic, and it has not Carried a Good Name, and has been under the Microscope a lot Lately. I have always Felt Comfortable and Safe with My PM Dr., and They have tried Many Things for Me before the Heavy Chronic Pain Narcotics were Prescribed. I may be looking at This Differently as You, or Maybe the Wording is the Same, Pain Clinic, and Pain Management Specialist such as Mine. I am just a bit Confused as to which You are Calling Pain Clinics. Mine was so Careful with Me that They sent Me to another PM Specialist in Pittsburgh, supposedly One of the Best on the East Coast, for a Second Opinion on the Care They were giving Me. Cap, it's the Drug combination that will allow one to work and not the other. As I have been told this many a times from my Occupational Medical Staff and Treating Doctor OCC Med also.
I too was on short term Meds. Now just this month, off them and now on MS Cottin. 12 Hour release, twice a day.. So far it only helps some, but as we all know some is good, for nothing is going to take all the pain away. If it helps me to move, I then say it's working, so I am moving...
