I went to my work comp doc over 2 weeks ago. He offered me pain meds and I declined. I don't like pain meds plus I'm so sensitive to them. They either start causing unpleasant reactions or they loose potency, become ineffective.

I went for a 25 minute motorcycle ride with my husband yesterday. My left hip that hadn't bothered me in a couple of days, well now it's awful. I'm now having left heel pain. That started about a week ago.

My autistic son made a comment when I came home from my work comp doc's apt. I told him that the doc said he'd see me again in six months. My son told me that I'd probably not be able to walk in 6 months. Well I can tell you based on just today. I may not be walking by the end of the month. I guess I'll make an appointment to see my doctor and ask her opinion of my hip and heel. My lawyer has asked that the hip be included in the case but that could take months.

I'm just screwed. Plus the pain has made me cranky. I've managed to snap at almost everyone in my family today and that's just not me. The knee I can take most of the time but add hip (that started in May), now the ankle.

No veno in the house, darn it....

I will spend about an hour this evening stretching, praying, stretching some more. It helps. When I first started having hip pain I found one particular exercise that helped considerably. Problem with that exercise is that if I do it too much it hurts my knee.
Oh well, tomorrow's another day, grocery shopping, just need to get that done and get to the city council meeting.

I hear what you are saying.........

Mine started with the left knee, then it was the right knee due to overuse.

Due to the altered gait and the 36 months delay on the replacement I started having problems with the back.

Most recent is the carpal tunnel & ulnar nerve from the use of the cane.

About a year ago I started having problems with the left hip, I went to the primary doctor and the CT scan shows some problems.

I have kept the left hip & carpal tunnel out of work comp and have gotten treatment on my own for both. (Bilateral knees have been approved by wc and the attorney has added 3 more body parts)

When does it end?
Have you tried anything like Pilates? Probably spelled that so wrong. I can't do some of the moves any more, but it is more like a meditation and I find it very relaxing and the stretching does help with the pain. It doesn't make it go away like a good pain med would. But it does seem to help a bit.

I would share my wine with you if you were closer!!!!
I've done pilates, yoga, tai chi, etc. For years, decades actually. Exercise keeps me sane literally. I've done some sort of exercise all of my life. I've always been active, always stretched. I started weight lifting about 16 years ago, I love the control of the muscles with the weight, the discipline. I know that sounds strange, but I love discipline. Love the control, feeling the contraction, the change in the muscle.

I've had to alter 90% of what I do. It's a challenge and I enjoy challenges.
If I didn't stretch, workout I don't know how I'd be managing today

Thankyou for your support,
BB
Now I understand where your name comes from. I understand completely where you are coming from. I loved working out and going to the gym. And when I started with weight training, I fell in love. I felt like I could do anything afterwards and it was very addictive. In the nicest possible way!!! That is what I am missing the most. The physio was getting me back into that when everything went south. I thought, at the time, that maybe the physio caused the problems. Then later I knew that wasn't the case. I would really love to get back into it. I don't even know if I can ever do that again. It isn't only about control. Its about confidence. Its about feeling your beauty. Inner beauty and outer beauty. Strange. But that is how I feel. So not being able to do it at the moment makes life somewhat empty.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! stretching. Couldn't walk without it. First thing in the morning and last thing at night. Can't do any physical excercise so I take walks at my own pace, not long or far. They help and sometimes they set off a sciatica attack. My upper body is shot and weak from my neck and shoulder and the lower body is shot from my back, knee and ankle. Sometimes me and Bill just look at each other and smile adn wonder where "WE" went.Rolleyes
Builder, I know that You don't like Pain Meds. I Hate Them also, but without the 21 Pills I take Daily, I wouldn't be able to Walk, and would be Bedridden!! Ultram is a Very Mild and Effective Pain Med. for Someone that hasn't Used Pain Meds. on a Constant Basis, Like Yourself. Maybe if that could just take the Edge Off for a While, and with Rest, You will be Fine in a Couple of Days! I Used to Work Out 3 Days a Week and Loved the Alone Time, and it's Great when You See the Results!! I Stopped Riding Dirt/Woods Motorcycle when I was 35, and went Back to Street, the way You had to Set on the Seat and the Bumps are Probably what caused the Flare-Up, and Hopefully Rest and Stretching will Help!! It Broke My Heart the Day I Sold My Street Bike, it felt like Someone put Steel Bars around Me!! My Very Best, and I Hope You Feel Better Soon!!
I took Ultram on and off for about 4 months while I was still working, it took the edge off. (I can't take any anti-inflammatories, even the prescription form that isn't suppose to cause GI distress). I took Ultram only when necessary since my body has a tendency to no longer respond to certain meds. One day the Ultram stopped working, I stopped taking it for over 1 month, tried it again, no relief. I have the same problem with Tylenol PM, I can't take it more than 3 times a week. I sometimes have to stop taking it entirely for about a month.
Ive never heard of Ultram. What is it?
