This man may of been a psych doctor but that doesn't mean he doesn't have some mental health problems of his own. There are a number of sevice men that are in mental health homes due to there break downs and some that will spend the rest of their lives in these homes because of the things they were dealing with in the service. Prayers going up for all the service men and women of Fort Hood and all there families as they undergo dealing with this loss.

This guy was facing his first deployment to a military theater. As far as I can tell, he'd never seen combat before.

Even with all the psych evals, some slip through, in this case our taxes paid for this man's education, because he had a degree he became an officer, that is the norm. I just wonder how he made it through OCS.
There are many military men and women that suffer in times of war. But if not for them, where would we be, would we have the freedom that we do? We all need to drop to our knees and thank God for them and our country. They should be our hero's.
I respect those people who are anti war, shouldn't we all be, But right now we our at war like it or not. We all need to support our troops, and stand up to people and admin. that try to down play what is going on.
We have young men and women, in a sittuation that they our in far more danger, because we have a admin. that is scared to make a decission yes I said scared, they our more worried about the polls then they are about our troops. chia pet somes it all up.
We could look at it this way, look at all the money we will save without finishing what we started. Pull out or step up.

This 19 year old ex-cheerleader (now an Air Force Security Forces Sniper) was watching a road that led to a NATO military base when she observed a man digging by the road. She engaged the target (i.e., she shot him). It turned out he was a bomb maker for the Taliban, and he was burying an IED that was to be detonated when a US patrol walked by 30 minutes later.. It would have certainly killed and wounded several soldiers.
The interesting fact of this story is the shot was measured at 725 yards. She shot him as he was bent over burying the bomb... The shot went through his butt and into the bomb which detonated; he was blown to pieces. The Air Force made a motivational poster of her:

And the last thing that came out of his mouth ... was his ass!

What Happened at Ft. Hood is Devastating, and what's More Devastating is the fact that This Man has had Problems in the Past, and No One took the Initiative to Take Action on This Person. His Thoughts on the War and His Feelings about the American People was told to Many, and No One in the Military took the Time or Cared to at the Very Minimum to send up a Red Flag that There May be a Problem with this Soldier!! God Bless All that were Injured or Killed, and Their Families, and if We don't Start Paying a Lot More Attention, I Personally Fear that there will be Many More Attacks on American Soil, and Our Embassy's and Military Bases around the World!! Bless All of Our Soldiers!!
What a trajedy, and to me from what I've heard and read from the media, it could have been prevented if the shooter had been discharged or military intervention had happened when his problems first raised their ugly head. Of course it was racial.

in our new world of political politeness we can no longer profile without someone screaming racist or some such crap...20 years ago he wouldnt have made it thru basic.....but now as proven on even our board you cant even tell the truth without being called a racist.......for goodness sake he all but told them what he was going to do and if not for the military cop that took him out he could have gotten the whole graduating class and their families....its time to quit being politically correct and be gung ho about protecting our land and its people.....get back to basics or we are gonna be in deep trouble
Jayne in this Instance I Agree Totally, because what has Happened this Time is the Racism Used was by the Shooter, and His Racism and Religion Killed Americans on American Soil, even though He was Born and Raised Here! He Chose to do what He did Based on what He felt was the Way He wanted to View His Religion, and the Race of His People. In this Instance, when the Racism is Used Clearly against American Citizens on American Soil, the Media still doesn't want to Discuss Race or Religion, when They Clearly were a Factor!!
