Do any of you think with the way the economy is that the people trying to get ssdi will be looked at harder then in good times?I send my lawyer a e-mail to see if the judge had done anything yet in my case and he said no and I got to thinking that they may find even more ways to turn me and others down to save money, any thoughts thanks.

What were your injury's ?
my observation is that backlogs for the social security process became huge during the bush administration; first time denials setting a record. The economy was roaring wide open then.
here is a link to an article that the backlog went from 311,000 in 2000 to 755,00 in december of 2007

I suspect the process delays are more a function of political philosophy rather then economy.
we have a more worker oriented government administration then past and benefit programs like social security may get more attention rather less.

I thought so too but they keep saying with my schooling and age I can do something so they passed me on to the judge for him to decide.I hope things go better you and you get it the first try my state is very hard to get anything done you want or need. Thanks again and wish you well and my thinking with the economy and money being tight they might make even harder for those who need it to get it,that was my thoughts and wondered what you all thought about my madness, lol.

3 denials for w/c or ssdi?
Inpainolka yes my wc is done and I think it was 20-25 % whole body I thought it would be more with all thats going on.
Nyyank09 thats three for ssdi but had two for wc and I settled out of court.
I have a tear in my L4.5 of my back, and continue to have muscle spasms. This is all new walking grounds for me too. I would think that you would get it also. Maybe the company makes a big decision on whether they want to continue to fight or not.
