TongueI'm in omaha ne.,and i've been 100% disabled for 9 years can i hire my own case manager to review my case and try to get a settlement or i want to increase my costs so they will settle or something.Please help thanks

Don't think you can, but not a 100% sure.

I think when your 100% disabled you get a check every month till you die. This is like your settlement.

Are you still getting a check?

Hi Gary, and Welcome to the Forum! I am Assuming You are Totally Disabled by w/c and the Social Security Administration, Correct? If so, You can Hire an Attorney at any Time to try and Settle Your W/C Case, but if it's SSDI You are Speaking of, there are no Lump Sum Settlements, only Cost of Living Allowances when They are given to Us! I am in Pa., and Neither Side here Ever has to Settle, and I am also Totally Disabled and on W/c and SSDI. I have Turned down an Offer, but have not Received another, and I am still in Litigation with w/c and My Employer! I Hope this has Helped, at the Top of the Page there is a "State Info." yes.
usually work comp professionals that manage claims for others and negotiate settlements are called "attorneys".
but there is no law against using "case managers" at your own expense.
