If I refuse the injection will workmans comp cut me off or do I have other options. I m always in pain I don't know what to do. Can anywho help please. Thanks
much depends on the state rules that control your benefits.
In many states if you chose not to pursue recommended treatment the physician is likely to determine that you have reached maximum recovery. the disability benefits change at that point and an impairment rating is used to determine future disability benefits.
In wage-loss states, the process is different.
most states have procedures for changing doctors or getting a second opinion.
What part of your back? and what injections? I had my first ESL injection two days ago, everything went very well, will see no pain relief until 4 to 5 days. My injury is to my back is l4, l5, s1. Why do you not want the injections? I have heard of a chiro (as in cold) table, it only works for a few, but it works on disk problems.

My lower back is where my disk is ruptured and streoid injections. How long after your injury did you get your injections. I don't want them to stick me in my back.
Medical Options; Injections are a minor medical option compared to a surgery. You need to discuss your options with the treating Doctor or Surgeon. Ask why the Injections, or why this, or why that. Bring it to the table before you leave the doctors office.
i too had 2 herniated disk in the lumbar area..had 3 injections very litle pain if any..dr said that pt would do nothing but make the injury worse..but the shots didnt help at all so had too have a 2 level fusion..but what i guess im geting too is that i thing the injections are the usual approach for herniated disk as the are supposed to take the preasure off the nerve from all the swelling
i had my first injection within a month of my injury and all 3 within 3 months

The injections are a good tool to see actually where your pain is comming from.. Its a step to take, if you get results and you feel it helped then great, they may procede in giving you another injection for some times a second one will last longer... They are just steps to take and if all else fails then they may go with a spine stimulater, and adventually you may need surgery as a last resort..
I have had a lot of these injections and all have been done under scope.. It's a short procedure and takes at the most 2 hrs, I also have had them every 30 days since JUNE.. I was in a MVA and have more then 1 pain trigger, all injections have helped a little but were short lived. I will be getting 2 more injections and then they are going to do a RF procedure in my facets L5-S1 area.. All other areas that are generating pain have failed to better.. I am looking at surgery for those and If I refuse the surgery I will be on Narcotics for life..........
My oppinion only........Give the injections a try but first ask your dr the bennefits from getting them......
Lost, to Answer Your Question, if You Deny these Injections without Filing a Petition to Review Medical Evidence with the w/c System, and have a Dr. of Your Choosing saying These Injections are not going to Help, I would Venture to Guess that You would Lose Your Payments. Are You able to Ask for a Second Opinion? Bronco and the Others are Correct, Injections are a Part of the Protocol to Relieve Back Pain due to a Herniation, My Injuries are in My Signature Below, and I had the Injections, but due to My Scar Tissue Post Surgery, they did not Help Me. Check on the Laws in Your State for a Second Opinion, I am not Sure if You have an Attorney, but if You do Speak to Them about This, if You don't, You May want to Consider Counsel. Most of w/c is Time Sensitive, Meaning You Only have so Many Days to File Petitions or Ask for Second Opinions, so knowing Your State's Laws will Help You Tremendously! My Very Best, and I Hope You get some Relief!!
Much like in my case, I had to have the 1st injection, before it could be medically decided they wouldn't help me. Then I had no more of them. But, like Limbo said, to come right out and say your not going to have the injections with put a stop on your TTD checks and medical. Leaving you to hash it out in hearing and such...
