I am a new member and have found this site extremely helpful. The atmosphere felt like "family" when I was reading all the thread's back and forth. It's nice to be able to share stories and get advice from others who know your pain. I apologize for "all the mean folks" who have posted here. It is childish and apparently they must not be in too much pain!

Hi Pookie and welcome to the forum. This forum has helped so many of us when we had no place else to turn for answers. It is the one place no matter how bad I was feeling I could turn to. I'm sure you will find the answers you are looking for and hopefully like I have friendship with others who are going through the same thing..
When I have been Bitter, Depressed, Angry, and in PAIN, everyone in this fourm has been so kind, even when their remarks and or advice has not been what I've wanted to hear. They have made me think and kept me grounded. Everyone has tried to keep me focused on getting well not on the bitterness.
Where is the rule that says we must all get along? That is part of what's wrong with our country. People seem to think that when their side is in power the rest of us must bow down and capitulate.
I've been fighting against the insurance company for my workers comp benefits for the last 5 years. It's a battle but so far my attorney and I have won them all. I am not gonna turn tale and run just because someone doesn't agree with me. That's what makes this a great country. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I may not like yours but I'll stand up with you and fight against anyone that tries to take away your right to express it.

Stiffnecked as far as I can see MY SIDE is not in power. I am an injured worker just like you so it would seem that we are on the same side in that matter. And yes you can have your own opinion, but everyone else is also permitted to have theirs, which you seem to have a problem with. You continually berate those who voice their opinions when they don't think the same way as you do. No one is asking you to turn tail and run, but we also don't need you trying to change our minds or our beliefs, because we can believe in anything we choose, whether or not you agree with it.
Returning to the feel good conversation. Pookie and Mpenny. The forum is a great place to gather info and I have learned more about WC on here than from any other place. It helps so much when we have people who have been through everything we find ourselves facing to show us the way. It always puts a smile on my face when I hear that someone has found an answer to their question and what they have found has in some way made their life a little better.

I just don't understand, why the sudden change in attitude with you. I never remember you were being like this before. I can understand, you don't like something, or someone in Political Office, but my god, why so much hate lately?

My apologies to those that I have offended. Just getting over surgery on my foot, my neck kills me everytime the weather changes and the pain meds just don't do anything. Except make me mean. Going to the pain management doctor tomorrow. Hopefully he can get me in to see the neurosurgeon and I can get my old disks reinserted. I sure hope they kept them frozen or something. I hate this plate in my neck. Over 2 years since the ACDF, my voice still hasn't come back, which my wife thinks is a good thing, and I still can't swallow right. Sorry for running the new guy off. Correct or at least understandable use of the English language is a pet pevee. As you can tell proper sentence structure and paragraph use aren't big concerns. Thanks for letting me rant.....

My post was in response to the folks leaving the forum for awhile becuase other folks are just MEAN! We all have pain AND DIFFERENCES, but I thought this forum was for adults. Maybe not. Hope I don't get as depressed as alot of others seem to be.
Stiff, I agree, it is a free country. We have the right to free speech. We also have a responsibility to behave within an accepted social construct. While we have some threads here that have allowed for an exchange of opinions, this particular one was not looking for your particular input on the state of the world.
My opinion is that largely people should ignore threads that bother or annoy them. That does not mean wade in and stir the pot "because you can".
I asked both you and Cycler to let it go. Cycler responded as a mature adult should, and let it drop. I am asking you to do the same. You do have a right to free speech, but on my board I expect people to mind their manners.
OK. I guess I'll take the hint and go back to watching Jerry Springer reruns.
