Does anybody know of state(s) regulations that prohibit the use of emails from ancillary provider to the injured worker???
any state or one in particular?
there are 50 different work comp jurisdictions plus federal.
generally it depends on the subject matter.
if it's a workers compensation matter and you have been informed that they have legal representation i suspect you will be required to honor it.
if it's a billing issue many states require it be directed to the carrier or the comp court.
I would follow the same criteria you use for other contact methods such as telephone or snail mail. State laws and the people who write them are notoriously slow at addressing "new" technologies (like 20 year old email). I am not aware of any states that have singled out email for special treatment. They most likely will in another 20 years or so.
