Ok I haven't been on an airplane in forever. I need to get away for a little bit and am going to see my sister in Virginia. I am in Florida.
Anyways I know you can bring fluids but it has to be 3oz or less. I know no razors and such but anyone know what else?
I was also wondering are pills ok and also I have a prescription for pain cream and it is bigger then 3oz can I bring that? I would hate for them to take it away from me.
Any other advice is welcome.
Thank you
As long as the prescriptions are in the right bottle and in your name you should be fine but I'm not sure on the cream.
Just a short story but make sure your ID is up to date. I've flown once in the last 20 years where I had to go thru all this security. We drove 2 hours to the airport and I get in line only to find out my drivers license had expired 2 weeks before that. I was so lucky I had enough outher things they would take as ID or I would have missed my flight
Cookie...all prescriptions in the original bottles. This all pertains to carry ons. Your tube of Volteran Gel can be packed if you're checking luggage..if not I would be afraid they would take it. I have flown a couple of times in the past 2 years and had a few things confiscated. I always brought razors and had no problem. In a quart size ziploc you want to put all meds and in a seperate one only toiletries that are small enough in size to fit in that quart size bag. You shouldn't have any problems.
call your airline ahead of time tell them about your pain cream....I wouldnt put anything I didnt want to lose in the baggage......I have carried some things aboard that were not in their weight/size I just had to surrender it to the flight crew for the flight
Jayne...that's why I mentioned packing it. Philadelphia International has told me that any type of Gel or liquid beyond the size of the quart size ziploc cannot be carried on but can be in luggage that is checked.
Thanks everyone. I put my gel in a quart size ziplock and it fits. I called the airlines and the lady I was asking put me on hold for awhile and she said as long as it has my name on it and is in a zip lock bag I should have no problems. If someone has to hold it while flying I am ok with that as long as they give it back. It is the only thing that has taken my pain from an8 to about a 4. I am only taking a backpack and am doing carry on.
good luck and enjoy the visit with your sister...
Have a Great Time Cookie!! I haven't Flown since My Injury so I'm not Up on the Rules, I just Wanted to Wish You a Great and Safe Time!!Wink
I'm so glad that Volteran Gel works for you. It really hels my small joints. Have a safe and wonderful trip.
Have a safe flight!

Every time I fly I set off all types of alarms with the cane, hearing aids, and knee replacement.

I end up being taken into a seperate room and getting searched.

THe airport in Las Vegas is the worst, not only was I searched but Hubby & I, and the 2 couples that traveled with us were questioned.
