Has anyone had physical therapy for a herniated disc in the lumbar region? My new specialist has ordered a round of PT, and I was just wondering what I'm in for...
I am sorry I do not have an answer to your question and someone will be along soon. I just had to comment on your avatar as it looks like my dog Wyatt..LOL

I know my husband did have a herniated disc and he NEVER had physical therapy but he did have a MRI and then he had 3 injections at a pain clinic and has done well ever since. He swears by them and recommends them to all his friends/family that have back problems. The shots are usually done to shrink the disc from what I was told. I could be wrong. But why would they think PT would help with a herniated disc?
Hi...I had lots of PT on my lumbar since I injured my back 3 times. First time I had 6 epidurals. The last one helped and an injection in my Sacroid joint that made matters worse.

PT....I did aquatic PT which is great for the back, treadmill, excercise bike and lots and lots of different stretches meant to keep the muscles surrounding the spine strong while not tightening up which creates horrible pain.
