I have a friend that is completly self sufficient....she has a small farm way out in the boonies...she cans and dries most everything she eats..she does work in trade for things she cant grow or make herself...and her husband works part time to pay the other bills they cant barter for.....she called me today to tell me she lost one of her female geese to a bobcat.....she heard the ruckus went out seen the problem and shot the bobcat...she promply skinned and dressed out both goose and the bobcat and cooked and canned them...she was making a stew with some of the bobcat....I asked her how she could eat a bobcat her reply was she looked it up and it was etable and she didnt waste anything......OK I know I make a lot of nasty jokes about cats but good gravy are they really something people should eat? and is there much difference between a bobcat and a housecat? I mean I cant even eat deer or any wild game...wont even eat poke salad....so those of you that hunt and kill wild game for food would you eat a bobcat? I am totally grossed out and told her so.....she said it was tough but tasted good.....
This one is easy for me, I am a vegetarian.

I also don't drink mild or eat eggs.
skeeter said he saw times when he would have been glad to have one on the table (not me) he has ate every thing from a rattlesnake to a possom .but jayne you know me lollol but he was raised farther up that holler
I would have to be darn hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would try it as people do eat things like raccoons to ground hogs so I would take a bite to see if was good.
I'm with Backache on this One!!Tongue We have Bobcat in Our Area, and I know Some Guys that have Hunted Them, but Never was there a Mention of Eating Them!!Wink
Jayne, a bobcat is similar to a house cat, but a bit larger.. We have lots of them along with lynx another cat family. I my self never tried it but know many people that have. If you dont see the skinning out of a babcat it probably wouldnt be so bad as it is the thought.. I hear its a bit dry tasting but I bet you could put it in a crock-pot.. There are many cultures that do eat them as the same with regular house cats... We live close to a bigger city and when the M---s moved in cat population droped severly..............
I just couldnt even if I was hungry.....it would be a waste of food as I would throw it back up
Yea me too, I dont desire to eat somthing like that.. People eat squerel here and to me it looks like a rat... I have tried squerel and is not to bad but it was mixed with rabbit stew.........
Simple question...NO
