This is a bull moose that walked through our yard yesterday. This is a never happenened thing in our area this moose has wandered from the UP and about 150 miles south and seems to be heading home.. The DNR has been tracking this but it seems he is sticking around our area they feel they are migrating here because this is the 3rd different on here that has been sighted............. I was not home at the time but the wife said the dogs were going nuts and my son looked out the window and seen him in our grass peeing on our apple trees... My son Austin took a picture from inside the house..............................
Very nice Bronco, hopefully he'll keep on going and not do any damage. They are beautifull and majestic creatures, but not ussually good around people. Thanks for sharing the pic.
Love
Vickie
My wife is not animal smart I wish I would have been home, she sent my son out to get a closer picture so he out there following him through the woods.. I am thankfull to god that the moose did not harm him, he just kept a distance apart and then kept going. It could have been very terible and I would be grieving in stead of sharing this.....
Thank the good Lord for watching over your son. Please remind your wife that they ARE wild anilmals.
Maybe the Migration May be from Lack of Food Sources in Their Original Area. A Bull Moose is Nothing to get Angered, I'm Glad Your Son is O.K.!! A White Tail Deer, unless having to Move due to Food Source will Usually Live and Die within 3 Miles of where They Were Born! I Wonder if it's the Same for those Big Guys!!??Smile
I have lived in Montana for five years now....and never once have seen a Moose. I know they are around. I did see two on the drive up through Idaho....what a sight!!!!!! They look so silly in their walking it is hard to believe that they are so dangerous. There was one that was reported in Missoula to be sleeping in the doorway of someones house. He stayed there all day.
Gee Bronco if you need to get rid of him give me a call. Moose meat is the best meat there is. I'll trade you an elk for him.LOL
Gee backache cant say it didnt cross my mind.. But I know the dnr have been tracking him so I had better not..
wow... a moose. years ago when we lived northern Alberta Canada .... my dad had fun with a moose.... it spit all over me, but my dad loved shooting it while I crawled out of my bed... I know...try to figure that one out... I saw a moose's head up close and personal when I was very young.
Well heres a new sighting 1 mile away at old man grays farm (thats what we call it).. So this one is sticking around, with that in mind we got another call from the dnr and said this is the seventh moose spotting, 3 cow 4 young bull moose. So somthings telling me there here to stay the winter. The worse thing about it is it's youth hunt this weekend for deer rifle and I hope there smart enough not to shoot the moose..............lol..
