Situation has gotten to point where mother want this. Told my att. about it,attitude quickly change. Told me about previous cases where family or friends got P-o-A and things became ugly. Didn't say whether it was for ins.co. or for IW. Has anyone had to do an P-o-A? Do you think that this is an right move(according to your experience)? There are two types[ general and specific ]. Any comment is welcome. Please respond.
Hi Izell....I think one of the questions is how do you feel about this?
I have never had to have a POA but have been one to others. Is it absolutely necessary? Why? I don't understand why your attorney feels this is a problem other than sometimes when mental illness comes into play with a WC claim and the mental illness is not work related the IW starts to become non-credible. Just my opinion. I said a prayer for you before I typed this and pray that all works out for the best for YOU.
I don't believe there is any particular reason. First, she pays all my expenses(rent, cable, phone, lights, car insurance, meds, and food when food stamps runs out.) Secondly, she sees how this ordeal has taken toll on my life(denial of medical and indemity), not able to do things that I was able to do before. Thirdly, the nature of W/C in the state of Louisiana. Fourthly, she believe I am given the run-a-round by ins.co. lawyer. And lastly, she is my mother. I trust her with my life. My deposition today would be the same as day one.
I agree, Izell. I would sign the papers for your mom to be your POA immediately. Your attorney really would only have to deal with your mom in that case. I am with Limbo on this one. I would have to ask why he is so against it. If it's your credibility that can be dealt with. Keep us posted.
