Went to PM Clinic for monthly visit; left and went to pharmacy; I was told my Fentanyl patch and Ambien needed "prior approval". 3 out 5 of my "cocktail" was approved. After contacting WC Case Manager and talking with the Prescription Drug card company, I finally got it straightened out. WC was late in approving the drugs. They are noe good for a year.
Oh, the wonders of WC and there darn delays.
That's great that you will get your meds

I had mentioned in another post that if you get denial from the insurance company and have an attorney that there is a pharmacy for injured workers that will give you your medicine regardless if it is approved or not and they send it next day ups. The compy is Injured workers pharmacy. Since I switched I have never had a problem and get my meds when I need them no hassles.

This is the 3rd time this has happened in 6 years. Everytime it has been resolved the next day.
It actually cost WC extra for another trip to the pharmacy at .52 cents a mile approx $15 dollars.
My mileage reimburement monthly is $125 dollars. I drive over 200 miles round trip to PM Clinic every month plus another 24 miles for the pharmacy trip.

Once I get this Claim settled and I have my MSA the 1st change will be to a closer PM Clinic.
The closest PM Clinic is 35 mile one way but much closer than 100. Right now It is not worth the hassle because in Louisiana you can choose your Doctor one time and they are also paying me mileage.

I also dread the new PM Doctor who might totally want to change everything. That is scary when a person is on strong opiates or a Fentanyl patch plus Hydrocodone.

My wife generally goes with me and when she cannot my DAD rides with me in case I get tired.

I also have the 'Nerve burning" done (Radio Frequency Ablation) of the facet nerves below T12,I have had some good pain relief here but the nerves grow back.
