California:
I received a letter from my attorney's office stating that a date has been set for a priority conference before a work comp judge. They will let me know if my presence is needed. What is a priority conference and what should I expect? My claim had been denied based on not proving injury was work related and I have not received any TTD lost wage benefits at all since injury that happened in May of this year, nor have I been able to return to work. My attorney states that the medical statements do prove it was work related.
a priority conference means the issue qualifies for an earlier date then a non-priority issue.
expect to find out why they don't believe it is work related and how they want to resolve it.
(likely requiring a future medical exam)

thanks, I found out today that the reason my lawyer asked for the conference was because the other side (WC defense attorney) has not made good on their promise to pay TTD lost wage benefits pending an AME exam and or work comp hearing ruling. So since they agreed to make payments but have not my lawyer requested and was granted the priority conference.

yes.
not getting medical and/or TD are reasons for requesting an early hearing date.
