I had Dr appt today and the nurse from Insurance showed up for my Appt. asking me questions in the lobby..like what do i do when I'm at home, if i ever had any other WC claim before or any back injury before this and many more questions..Dr recept ask the ins nurse to front desk ask the ins nurse if she was there to see me or to see the Dr..... Nurse told her the Dr.. Recpt told her she need a Appt and there is a Fee to see ther Dr....Ins nurse schedule appt for next week with Dr ref to my claim..Nurse sat down still asking me question on about my injury.. I had my 13 month old daughter with me did not have anyone to take care of her. Nurse being friendly..Recpt call me to the back so Dr can see me.. Recpt tld me in the back that nurses for ins adj are not friendly and that I should of told the nurse that she need info on my medical ref to injury needs to ask the Dr....While Dr was seeing me he told me Ins nurse gave him a letter and let me read it.. It said that my employer willing to work with me with restriction..Which we already tried wrking 4 hours.. But still have pain in my lower back and leg...Dr also advise to seek legal help..He gave me another week off until my MRI results come back..My MRI appt is Tues 9/22 @ 8 am...when Dr finish seeing me nurse was still out in lobby waiting for me and ask when will I see the DR again tld her and walk out with me and left
That is a nurse case manager....she can be your best buddy or your worst nightmare get a lawyer
NCMs can be good or bad. Some really care about thier job and other do not.

They work for the IC.

I would recommend that you be polite and direct when answereing any questions. You may find the ncm is trying to help you. Only time will answere that.

Mine called me today. I haven't seen or heard from her since 11-06. She told me that she will be attending my next visit with the neuro-surgeon. Even though she was nice and polite on the phone and tryed to explain why. I know she is going to be there to try and find out why I walked out on my PM dr..

Anyway, just be carefull with what you do ans say. By the way, your dr. sounds like he/she is on your side. What you may not know is, the ncm's can only go in the exam room with you. If you agree. If you don't, they can not go in. Your dr. took care of that issue.
