I live in Washington State. I was injured in 2002, received lots of medical care for a herniated disc and an impact stroke (caused from the whip lash) from the injury to my head and neck. Now 7 years later the department has finally settled on an award amount for the permanent disability.

The Department settle out of court June 30th 2009, I called the other day where it was stated that the Attorney General had to give his final "look over" to ensure I was receiving all benefits and awards. Ok, fine but I was told this was given to him on July 10th, clearly enough time to determine if the department was following protocol and award schedules....

My question: Does anyone know how long once a decision is reached for them to actually award me the payment?? I know in some states they have a standard like 14 days, 30 days, 3 months...

Thank you so much for your time and consideration....

Jillian
generally the payment time begins once the settlement is approved. i don't believe there is any timeline for the atty general.
sounds like you need a hearing to press for your permanent disability award since it has not settled.
Thank you...
It took 30 days for me to receive my permanent impairment award after my hearing. Every place is different, but I just thought I would let you know how long it took mine. I live in NH. Also it did not take long for a hearing here as it does for other places I hear of.
Thank you....Got part of the issue corrected. Now apparently we have to wait for the board to re-issue the corrected order because they failed to address the interest portion from the delay.
