So my daughter got a call today not from the WC insurance adjuster, but from some guy from a local affiliate of the insurance co. wanting to see her in person. I don't know why unless it's about the accident happening outside of the job place. He's supposed to come on Monday. Any thoughts?
talk to her lawyer before letting anyone speak to her....
could be an outside investigator hired to take a statement.
if so make sure they leave a copy of the recorded statement for her records.
Is this a normal practice to add an outside investigator to the mix? should I let him come over om Monday? What do you think they're looking for?
information.
I can't remember the details of your daughters injury but i think there might be 3rd party liability?
find out who it is and why before you worry.
you can terminate the interview any time if you think something is not right.
it's all speculation at this point.
there are enough real pitfalls without imagining them.
this board is not is not a valid representation of work comp stories. it collects those that have problems. base your actions on your experience.
if she has a lawyer they have to go thru her lawyer...do not speak to them without lawyers OK
I Totally Agree with Jayne on this One!! Number One, You have No Idea who This Person is, so I wouldn't Allow Them in Your Home, and if They need any Statements from Your Daughter, it should be Set-Up and done in Your Attorney's Office! Just My Opinion, but Tread Very Lightly Here, I have Never had Anyone want to Come to My Home without My Attorney's Knowledge, and as per Your Attorney's Contingency Agreement with You and Them, I'm Sure it States that Your Daughter Speaks with No One Unless Approved by the Attorney!! Be Careful!!
