Hello again
I just found out for anyone wanting a second opinion but not affording one may now have an option. Here in NY the
Hospital for Special Surgeries will look over your MRI, CT scan, X-rays, etc. for no charge. You simply mail in the film or CD's with the questionnaire that they provide you and once they determine if in fact you are a surgery candidate they will then call you in for a visit. This hospital is world renowned and handles many Sport stars. It is located in NYC across from Cornell Hospital. As their web site states ...
"Hospital for Special Surgery is the nation’s leading specialty hospital for orthopedics and rheumatology. People come to HSS from all over the world seeking the best possible medical care."

I sent in my film yesterday and am hoping they find something my doctor missed.
Good Luck and Be Well
That's great tpm....wishing you the best results/.
This may or may not work with wc. Probably will not work. Most programs like this or even things like clinical trials will not touch someone who has a wc claim or ever had one for that body part. They do not want to get tied up in the litigation. Can't blame them. If they did they could be subject to subpoena to court. They wouldn't have anyone to bill for their time and could end up in court every other day when they could be making money.
Well I was told to mail my MRI in and should receive a call by Wednesday. They know it's a WC case
keep us informed TPM as we learn different things daily...some Docs are starting to stand up agaisnt WC and there BS
tpm my local hospital here sends all my test like that to New York to that Hosptial to be read by a Dr Hertzog I think that is how u spell his name. My local dr says they are the best for reading those test.
Good to know CF. I am dealing with a Dr Huang (Wong). I hope to be hearing from him by Tuesday providing the copies of the CD films I sent him can be opened. Otherwise I will need to go to my hospital to have them make copies of the originals for me.
Be Well
tpm...Good luck to you! I pray they can see some problem that's fixable !!

Well here it is almost October and I have no idea what direction to take. I had 2 second opinions, one from the Hospital for special surgery and another is a well known Neurosurgeon. The hospital wants me to start seeing a Physiatrist to manage my condition. The Neuro told me the only possible relief for me would be to move to Las Vegas.

He said I have pretty bad DDD (degenerative disc disease) which was accelerated by my fall. I am going back to my Surgeon on October 1st. He also said any more surgery to repair the pinched nerve from my first operation would be too invasive.
I am still on the fence with trying to return to work by mid October. I filed online for SSI disability which was a 3 hour ordeal. I just need to drop off medical releases to the office. My lawyer told me I could try to return to work and if I found I could not do it then my SSI would not be effected as long as I didn't work longer then a couple of months (I guess my year off would still count). I will see what my doctor says on the 1st to make up my mind. I think if my company paid me my vacation time that is owed I would just pack it in but I don't think they want to do that, I guess I am being stubborn but it is 6 weeks vacation so I would only have to work about 4 weeks to the end of the year AND keep my medical

If only I knew what I was doing and where I was going I would feel so much better
Be Well
TPM, I was just like you, when I was injured. I didn't want to accept the fact that work just might be out of the question. You are learing the hard way, just like I had too also. I know how it feels. Your need to take the time you have, get on SSDI, and start working out a plan for you, and your family. Take notes, as we will forget things, but, in the end, you will see it all works out for you, if you let it work out for you.
