My cousins son is in this video he is in the second segment of it you can skip the into and go to it. it may take a few seconds to load when you go to the segment, his name is Josh
My Daddy, granddaddy, uncles and such all worked in the coal mines of Okla and ark....
He did a Great Job CV!! Regardless what Folks May think, it's still Coal that Keeps Us going! I Live in a Town that had Many Large Mines around it, and Many Family Mines that Only had the Families Working them in the Early 1900's. Just Up the Street from Me, a Gentleman Bought a Lot of Acreage to Build a Plan of Homes, He finished the First Row by the Road, and when He went to Start the Second Row, He almost Lost a Front Loader into a Burnt Out Mine!! The Ground up Higher had been Mined Out Years ago, and He never took the Time to Check it Out! During the 50's after the Mines were Closed, People Used to Dump Their Household Garbage and other Items into the Mine Air Shafts, and then Some how the Garbage caught Fire, and the Vacant Mines Burnt Out!! I can Remember as a Kid Smelling the Sulfur, and seeing the Smoke coming out of the Ground not far from My House where We Used to Play!! My Father took Us into the Woods and Showed Us the Safe Spots and the Dangerous Spots, so We were Safe.Wink

We also had Approx. 500 Coke Ovens that Operated, and My Father could Remember having to Turn the Headlights on at Noon, the Smoke was so thick, and Women could Only Hang the Wash on the Days they didn't Fire! Our Town was a Major Train Junction, I would Love to Say the Name Here and it would Make a lot of Sense, but as We all know it's Best to be Safe, and not give too Much Info.! But Dad Shopped at the Old Company Store, and I Remember the Building, it was Closed long before I was Born!Wink
