I am a health care worker in PA. I am presently out on workers comp. due to an infection (MRSA) received at work. i am contenplating quiting my job for several reasons. will I still be coverd by workmans comp. for medical coverage after I quit. any other comments are welcome.
health insurance requires you be employed with the company; workers comp benefits does not.
Work comp will still cover the medical portion of your claim, but they won't offer any wage benefits as you voluntarily took yourself off of the job. So think long and hard about this decision. If it takes you any time to land a new job, you will have to survive on monies you have saved at this time. And you won't be eligible for UE.

I would think that a statement from your Dr. That due to the infection and the antibiotics causing a supressed immune system you should not have duties that put you at risk of further nosocomial exposure. That being the case the employer would have to honor those restrictions.
There is actually a bill waiting congress' return on exactly this matter.
Just a FYI there has been a warning that those taking RIFAMPIN should not risk exposure to H1N1 Swine Flu.
Yeppirs that be it. And I didnt have to suck up! LOL!!!
SSSHHH,,,, shes going to quit ,, then retire,,!!! THANKS
